Abe Herbaugh: Partially Sandblasted Spathe
Product Number: 002-614-0070
A very tightly-knit bundle of energy, this piece once again sees Abe Herbaugh taking inspiration from the realm of nature. However, instead of focusing on the macro-concept of a particular organism, he's shined a light on the microcosm of a an arum flower's characteristic central axis, from which it reproduces. Known as the Spathe, this low and substantial fellow does indeed evoke the look of the conical sheath, a resemblance that is accentuated all the more through the use of a dark sandblasted finish framed with lines of warm, smooth stain. Complemented by a creamy lemon acrylic stem, it's equal parts organically-inclined and elegantly playful. Really cool.
