Alexander Tupitsyn: Smooth Bent Brandy
Product Number: 002-622-0049
This bent Brandy follows a familiar theme for Alexander's work, pairing a full, rounded bowl to a well-defined lenticular shank and saddle stem — seamlessly balancing soft curves, harder lines, and a lovely gesture in profile. The slight backwards cant of the rim, the lifting heel, and the sweeping gesture of the transition all aid in realizing a good bit of forward momentum, tying the composition together beautifully. It's finished here in a deep ruby contrast stain, highlighting not only a wealth of flame grain around the bowl but an entire sea of whirling birdseye across the underside and top of the shank with mesmerizing detail. If you're a fan of Tupitsyn's pipes, this epitomizing example of his shaping and finish work would be an excellent addition to your collection.
