Alexander Tupitsyn: Smooth Bent Apple with Ivorite
Product Number: 002-622-0073
From sharply-faceted, Ilsted-like numbers to those of fairly pronounced curve and subtle corpulence, like this fellow here, Alexander Tupitsyn's stylistic approach certainly has something of a wide breadth indeed. Defined by a single curve at the underside, this piece makes use of a forward-inclined sense of gesture to guide the eye to its gently forward-canted bowl, and likewise the stunning grain to be found there. Indeed, the bowl showcases a fetching cross-cut pattern, resulting in loads of vivid birdseye adorning each cheek, all highlighted by a rich, dark walnut finish. Coupled with that, it wears a mount of creamy, striated ivorite, offering a touch of contrast to the grain-accentuating treatment.- Daniel Bumgardner
