Andreas Bennwik: Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-752-0004
With a beveled rather than rounded rim, a stronger slant to the face of the saddle stem's base, and a rounder, fuller cross-section of shank and transition, this is the more aggressive of the two smooth bent Dublin's in this Andreas Bennwik batch. Though both are clearly variants of the same basic shape (i.e. a specific sort of bent Dublin), each is thus given its own character in the details of their lines. It's a difference in character that is reinforced, but not created, by their also having been shaped at different scales — this more aggressive variation being a bit larger, the subtly more delicate one being a bit smaller. You may notic, however, that they do come in at close to the same overall length. This itself plays to their natures, the lighter Dublin being a touch longer of shank and stem, this one stockier — its slightly greater total length being mainly a factor of the bigger, broader bowl.
