Bill Shalosky: Sandblasted Brandy (447)
Product Number: 002-720-0102
The Brandy is among the most comfortable pipe shapes to grip, its curved and tapering bowl naturally inclined to the palm of the hand, and few can carve them as precisely and uniformly as Bill Shalosky. The heel of this composition is firm, with the forward edge maintaining the Brandy shape perfectly, and with just enough cheeking at the shank to support that form. Sandblasted from rim to shank end, except for a narrow band of smooth briar at the end of the shank, it preserves the unified coloring evident in bowl and matching cumberland mouthpiece. The texture of this piece is craggy in hand for further ease of grip and visual interest.
Bill began his pipemaking career doing restorations and repairs for Smoker's Haven in Ohio, then moving to the BriarWorks to work with Todd Johnson and Pete Prevost, and he also makes pipes under his own name, which is becoming more and more famous. His pipes are conceived and constructed with meticulous care, impressive ingenuity, and brilliant creativity. Ten years from now his pipes will be astronomically priced, so take advantage now.- Chuck Stanion
