Bill Shalosky: Smooth Tipsy Bent Brandy with Ebony (481) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-720-0122
A particularly Danish sense of shaping dominates this pipe from Bill Shalosky. The line in profile of curvature of the bowl is a voluptuous hyperbola, and since the bowl is so proportionately tall, it continues in a long arc to the rim, which is roundly beveled, again highlighting Danish stylings.
This is a nosewarmer of a pipe at merely 4.14 inches, but the bowl is full sized at just under two inches. Imagine how light in the teeth this pipe will be, contributed to by the half bend of the shank and saddle mouthpiece. It's hard to imagine anyone finding fault with the grain here, the contrast stain ably delineating the vertical strands that rise up the bowl. And for just a hint of the exotic to liven the presentation further, the accent ring at the end of the shank is made of New Guinea Ebony.
