Bill Shalosky: Sandblasted Dublin (640) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-720-0205
Bill Shalosky's portfolio well demonstrates his affection for the classics of previous generations, with Billiards, Liverpools, Apples, and Brandys well represented in his portfolio. The American carver admires straightforward, practical designs, and he has used that as inspiration for his own style.
This straight Dublin is a fine example of Shalosky's affinity for classic shapes, featuring an archetypal, flaring bowl with a broad rim that rests on a rounded heel at the fore of a slightly elongated round shank. Out back, a tapered cumberland stem maintains the clean lines on display while offering an effortless clench. Dressed in a rich mahogany sandblast, the stummel boasts deep, defined ring grain all around the bowl, while traces of flame grain can be seen running vertically, thanks to an expertly applied contrast stain that coincides with the variegated hues of the hand-cut stem.
