Bill Shalosky: Sandblasted Volcano (764) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-720-0293
Bill Shalosky harmonizes a range of influences in his work while prioritizing meticulous craftsmanship and superb engineering. Currently working at the esteemed BriarWorks workshop, Shalosky also fashions his own line of entirely handmade pipes. Like many of Shalosky's Volcano renditions, this piece features an arching undercurve that flows throughout the design. The bowl's broad, flattened heel rises sharply from a bend at the transition, creating a distinct upturn. From there, the bowl's walls stretch upward and taper toward the rim, resulting in a form that reflects the shape's namesake. The crisp, trapezoidal shank at the rear mirrors the heel and sharply turns upward to connect with a gently bent saddle stem made of jet-black vulcanite, ensuring a comfortable smoking experience. The stummel is dressed in a rugged, earthy sandblast that showcases the pronounced growth rings wrapping around the briar.
