Bill Shalosky: Sandblasted Billiard (766) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-720-0294
While fashioning BriarWorks and Moonshine pipes in Columbia, Tennessee, carver Bill Shalosky also crafts his own line of entirely handmade pipes. He's renowned for his exacting engineering as well as a distinctive shaping style that often combines soft curves with muscular proportions and intriguing accent materials. Throughout 2024 especially, he began utilizing longer stem styles, playing with proportions, and this Billiard represents that approach by the heralded American artisan.
Though nearly six inches in length, this Billiard retains a lightweight presence overall and a slim aspect from bit to heel. The bowl itself is compact, and the design's sleek aesthetic owes much to the elongated tapered stem that's been hand-cut and filed by Shalosky. It forgoes the muscular style he's often gravitated toward in favor of a slender profile that highlights this pieces contrasting color scheme: The stummel's traditionally stained sandblast is beautifully accented by the brindled stems variegated green-and-taupe hues for a distinctive piece whose attractive style is supported by Shalosky's unparalleled craftsmanship.
