BriarWorks: Signature Light Smooth Fig (Adam Davidson Design) (14/100) (DC1) Tobacco Pipe

BriarWorks' Signature line is one dedicated to signature shapes; thus far those of Pete Prevost and Todd Johnson, which rather makes sense since they run the place, and are both highly accomplished pipemakers. When they approached Adam Davidson they already knew exactly which signature shape they wanted: a Fig. This is a shape-concept Adam first made a reality in 2011 (we carried the first one he ever made), and which he hasn't sat still with since then - he's made them long-shanked and he's made them short and chubby, he's made them symmetrical and asymmetrical.

For the Briarworks design Adam seems to have found a happy middle-ground; the handy charm of his chubbier renditions is definitely there, while at the same time the proportions and taper of the transition and shank remind me more of a shortened version of his earliest long-shanked renditions.
