Brigham: Tundra (63) (Rock Maple Inserts) Tobacco Pipe

One of Brigham's unique takes on the Acorn shape, the "63" is a strikingly vertical iteration of the modern classic shape, complete with a plump, forward-canting bowl. This bowl flares out to a rounded rim as it sits atop a flattened heel that's centered nearer to the fore and lifts up to a tapering stretch of shank and stem. This combination rises quite tall, and it's balanced well enough to allow this pipe to sit, making for an ideal desk pipe that doubles as a jaw-hanger.

Brigham's Tundra series takes inspiration from its eponymous region, the Canadian marque seeking to capture the frigid landscape's palette of light and dark hues through a contrast-rich sandblast. The finish here reveals handsome grain throughout, its striking stain defining the grain patterns well, with contrast offered by its smooth rim. Additionally, this line has been paired to a band of brass at the junction, further enhancing the contrast offered by the series while a jet-black stem keeps things looking timeless.

Like all of Brigham's lineup, this pipe also comes complete with the marque's signature Rock Maple Insert. This special insert comprises a rock maple dowel drilled with a 3.5mm airway and pressure-fitted in the tenon via a special metal cap, helping to remove moisture and unpleasant flavors that develop during the smoking process. No chemicals or adhesives are used to manufacture Brigham's Rock Maple Inserts, ensuring a flavor-neutral profile that doesn't interfere with the tobacco. Moreover, because of the drilling, the Rock Maple Insert is able to pass a pipe cleaner, even while the pipe is still assembled.
