Brigham: Mountaineer (347) (Rock Maple Inserts) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-491-8306
One of Brigham's more deeply bent Dublin designs, the Canadian marque's "47" presents with a sweeping curvature through the shank and stem, both ebbing out of a rather tight transition that still maintains enough space to drape a digit. The shank tapers into a similarly tapering stretch of demurely curved stem, the combination here offering a comfortable smoking posture and potential for jaw-hanging. The bowl sits atop a pronounced, pointed heel and showcases a steady flare out to a broad rim, its classic lines balancing the shank and stem well.
The Mountaineer line is a smooth and traditional collection of pipes offered across a wide array of Brigham's shape chart. The finish is characterized by a rich walnut finish that always brings out the best in a pipe's grain. The effect produced is a timeless aesthetic at home on a back porch or mountain lodge.
-John McElhenyLike all of Brigham's lineup, this pipe also comes complete with the marque's signature Rock Maple Insert. This special insert comprises a rock maple dowel drilled with a 3.5mm airway and pressure-fitted in the tenon via a special metal cap, helping to remove moisture and unpleasant flavors that develop during the smoking process. No chemicals or adhesives are used to manufacture Brigham's Rock Maple Inserts, ensuring a flavor-neutral profile that doesn't interfere with the tobacco. Moreover, because of the drilling, the Rock Maple Insert is able to pass a pipe cleaner, even while the pipe is still assembled.
