Brigham: Tundra (36) (Rock Maple Inserts) Tobacco Pipe

Brigham's "36" shape is a striking rendition of the bent Brandy shape that combines features of its namesake with the Apple and Pot as well. The bowl is plump and supple in its shaping, with plenty of rounding at the low-set waist and a rather squat build, its walls tapering gently toward a chamfered rim. A wide transition leaves plenty of room to drape a digit and gives way to a trim shank that lifts gently to meet a demurely curved stem. A charming and playful shape from the Canadian marque, the "36" is a worthwhile addition to any collection.

Brigham's Tundra series takes inspiration from its eponymous region, the Canadian marque capturing the frigid landscape's palette of light and dark hues through a contrast-rich sandblast. The finish reveals handsome grain throughout, its striking stain defining the grain patterns well and contrasted by the smooth rim. Additionally, the shank is accented by a band of brass for a touch of refinement, while a jet-black stem keeps the composition timeless.

Like all of Brigham's lineup, this pipe also comes complete with the marque's signature Rock Maple Insert. This special insert comprises a rock maple dowel drilled with a 3.5mm airway and pressure-fitted in the tenon via a special metal cap, helping to remove moisture and unpleasant flavors that develop during the smoking process. No chemicals or adhesives are used to manufacture Brigham's Rock Maple Inserts, ensuring a flavor-neutral profile that doesn't interfere with the tobacco. Moreover, because of the drilling, the Rock Maple Insert is able to pass a pipe cleaner, even while the pipe is still assembled.
