Brigham: System Rusticated (03S) (Rock Maple Inserts) Tobacco Pipe

One of Brigham's more uniquely shaped Billiard designs, the "03" takes the classic profile and lends it a wealth of bowl-forward visual weight. Said bowl sits atop a pronounced heel which is thrust into prominence thanks to a sleek taper through the shank, here paired to a similarly tapering stem that keeps the aft side of this pipe quite svelte. Up front, the bowl grows stout walls that rise to a chamfered rim, overlooking a capacious chamber that's sure to offer leisurely smoking sessions.

Brigham's System series comprises two different finishes, both of which are united by their deceptive simplicity and rugged wealth of texture. The first of these finishes is a craggy rustication done in a striated, wire-brushed style and stained an inky black hue to disguise any handling marks it might accrue. The other finish within the System line is a crisp sandblast stained a light tan to showcase the briar's natural grain. Both are unified by jet-black stems and a simple style, presenting the pipes they dress in classic palettes that suit their hard-working, pastoral appeal.

Like all of Brigham's lineup, this pipe also comes complete with the marque's signature Rock Maple Insert. This special insert comprises a rock maple dowel drilled with a 3.5mm airway and pressure-fitted in the tenon via a special metal cap, helping to remove moisture and unpleasant flavors that develop during the smoking process. No chemicals or adhesives are used to manufacture Brigham's Rock Maple Inserts, ensuring a flavor-neutral profile that doesn't interfere with the tobacco. Moreover, because of the drilling, the Rock Maple Insert is able to pass a pipe cleaner, even while the pipe is still assembled.
