Brigham: Giant Smooth (1201) (Rock Maple Inserts) Tobacco Pipe

Brigham's "01" shape is a robust and muscular rendition of the classic Billiard shape, complete with a tall, plump bowl sat atop a rounded heel and rising to a lofty rim. The transition is wide enough to drape a digit and gives way to a tapering stem that pushes further visual weight onto the bowl. Somewhere between a timeless iteration of the Anglo-French classic and a neoclassical reinterpretation of the same, this hearty pipe is sure to appeal to fans of thickly-built shape-chart standards.

The Giant series from Brigham defines a specific shaping style unique to the line. It comprises both sandblasted and smooth finishes: the former a crisp, inky application that lends pipes a serious, old-school aesthetic, and the smooth a brighter, more vibrant auburn stain that reveals handsome grain throughout. Most appropriate to the Giant name, each of the pipes in this line are unified by their larger-than-standard sizes, creating intensely muscular profiles that stand out against many of the Canadian marque's more conservative offerings.

Like all of Brigham's lineup, this pipe also comes complete with the marque's signature Rock Maple Insert. This special insert comprises a rock maple dowel drilled with a 3.5mm airway and pressure-fitted in the tenon via a special metal cap, helping to remove moisture and unpleasant flavors that develop during the smoking process. No chemicals or adhesives are used to manufacture Brigham's Rock Maple Inserts, ensuring a flavor-neutral profile that doesn't interfere with the tobacco. Moreover, because of the drilling, the Rock Maple Insert is able to pass a pipe cleaner, even while the pipe is still assembled.
