Chacom: 100th Anniversary Smooth (64/100) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-512-10650
Chacom's roots stretch back to 1879 with the founding of the Comoy's brand by Henri Comoy, who made pipe bowls in Saint-Claude, France, that were then sent to London, England, to be finished by their factory there, all with the help of his cousins of the Chapuis family. Once the London factory was operating autonomously, the Chapuis-Comoy factory began making Chacom pipes, a portmanteau of the Chapuis and Comoy names. Chacom upholds a reputation for fine smoking instruments, and the 100th Anniversary line celebrates that tradition of fineness, comprising 100 individually serialized pipes that come complete with display cases.
Composed of a single shape, a timeless Billiard, the 100th Anniversary series was crafted to commemorate the founding of the Chapuis-Comoy factory in 1922. The establishment of this factory officially solidified the partnership between the Chapuis and Comoy brands and allowed for the start of Chacom pipes in 1928. Shape-wise, the Billiard this series presents is wonderfully classic, staying true to the Anglo-French style, with a perfectly plump bowl and just a touch of taper through the shank. Said shank ebbs out of a wide transition and meets a cumberland stem at a junction marked by an elegant silver band etched with "1922 - 2022." Offered in a warm, contrast rich stain and a crisp sandblast, this pipe is additionally available in morta, showcasing Chacom's ability to render clean-lined pipes in alternative materials. Finished smooth, this pipe is numbered 64 out of 100
