Davide Iafisco: Sandblasted Bent Dublin
Product Number: 002-702-0039
Much like the some Danish interpretations of the Horn shape, this bent Dublin from Davide Iafisco cuts a dramatic, forward-racing silhouette overall, operating almost entirely along the horizontal axis. Davide's accomplished this here through a strong forward cant to the bowl together with some very clean, sweeping lines along the slightly paneled underside and top of the shank — helping the composition guide the eye from one end of the briar to the other. That aforementioned paneled fore also allows this piece to sit stably on a flat surface, while still retaining that striking forward orientation in profile. It's presented in a light sandblast and a deep ruby stain, accentuating the block's natural growth rings while keeping the defining lines of the form clean and well-preserved.- Andrew Wike
