Davide Iafisco: Sandblasted Apple Tobacco Pipe

A charmingly stout and abbreviated take on the Apple shape from Davide Iafisco, this piece features a plump, Italian neo-classical bowl with a touch of forward cant and a broad wasitline oriented mid way between rim and base. The subtle lifting gesture of the heel gives it that soft, Danish look, while the harder lines of the oval shank nod to Davide's American Industrial influences — a combination of aesthetic approaches we've seen Iafisco simply nail time and time again. This example is finished in an extra dark, low-profile sandblast, bringing out an array of texture and grain all around, accented only by the crossgrain adorned, smooth-polished rim. Excellent piece.
