Davide Iafisco: Smooth Long Shank Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Checking through our archives, it appears that, with perhaps a few exceptions, Davide Iafisco's work seems to showcase a sense of easy curve. His piece's undersides especially serve as an example of this, often presenting an eager sweeping motion easily traceable with one single gesture. Well this long shank Acorn makes for a handsome departure, as the carver's imbued it with a crisp spur just below the underside, allowing it to serve as the point from which the long, flaring shank emanates, and continuing his penchant for drawing a good deal of inspiration from the Danish school. Licks of tight, dramatic flame dance on all flanks, and the feel in hand is one of comfort and substance. Quite a handsome piece.
