Davide Iafisco: Sandblasted Bent Egg

Product Number: 002-702-0107

One of the many influences in Davide Iafisco's journey of pipe carving was Danish artisan Teddy Knudsen, and this bent Egg certainly pays homage to the Danish design style. Gestural of shape and displaying a forward-surging profile, the bowl rounds smoothly to a lifted heel and soft transition, the line work sweeping smoothly into a roundly flaring, upturned shank.

Davide has shaped this one as a cross grain piece and dressed it in a midnight sandblast to accentuate blasted birdseye on both flanks. The rim is deeply chamfered and smooth, further commended by one of Davide's vibrant yellow and black contrast stains for striking contrast. A hand-cut vulcanite stem matches the shank's flare before narrowing to a saddle configuration, turning downward softly to promote a comfortable smoke.
