Davide Iafisco: Smooth Brandy Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-702-0159

Davide Iafisco is among the foremost carvers of his generation, with a singular aesthetic that combines influences from his native Italy and the Danish masters, fusing the best of both into a bold and gestural style. Iafisco has studied with some of the best pipe makers around, including Teddy Knudsen and Claudio Cavicci, making impressive use of his experience.

This Brandy is a fine example of Iafisco's work, displaying a more Italian neoclassic silhouette, with a bold, hearty bowl that rests atop jutting heel, while sleek walls taper gently toward a subtly domed rim. Out back, a defined transition gives way to sleek round shank which joins a deftly hand-carved saddle stem rendered from burgundy-hued vulcanite, offering an elegant contrast to the stummel's natural finish. Said finish highlights impressive birseye along the bowl's flanks, with tight birdseye at fore and aft, as well as tight striations around the rim and heel.
