Davide Iafisco: Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-702-0161

With a deep appreciation for the history and craft of pipe making, Davide Iafisco takes inspiration from various schools of design. He studied personally under carvers Teddy Knudsen and Claudio Cavicchi and attended the pipe-making seminars of Jeff Gracik and Adam Davidson. Those influences are obviously present in his work, but Iafisco also transforms and elevates his influences into something completely his own.

A striking design, this bent Dublin possesses a muscular, full-bodied bowl that flares from its pointed, Acorn-like heel to its broad, undulating rim. As the bowl broadens, it takes on a subtle forward cant that keeps the entire shape looking active and dynamic in profile. Additionally, the bowl is set at the fore of a sturdy shank that flares outward to meet a demurely curved saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite. The shank's dramatic expansion mirrors the bowl's own, lending both ends of the stummel a certain visual symmetry, even though the bowl and shank are proportionally disparate. Completing this ensemble is a vibrant, contrast-stained smooth finish that highlights gorgeous flame across the bowl's flanks and striking birdseye across the rim.
