Davide Iafisco: Sandblasted Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-702-0195

Davide Iafisco, a talented Italian pipe maker, seamlessly blends traditional Italian craftsmanship with aspects of the Danish, Japanese, and American design schools. His pipes are celebrated for their dynamic shapes, graceful lines, and occasional asymmetry, each meticulously crafted to the highest standards and exceptional engineering. As such, Davide's portfolio shows a penchant for gestural pieces with a fluid sense of dynamism, a design penchant showcased handsomely here. This bent Dublin displays softly flaring lines and an organic curvature that makes expert use of the briar's grain. The bowl's voluptuous figure perfectly displays tight stacks of ring grain that climb to a broad rim packed with tight plateau. The entire composition features a subtle yet palpable sense of forward momentum, aided by the aft's well-bent posture and the bowl's sweeping heel. The low-set shank tapers expressively as it gives way to a long, well-bent stem of ruby-hued vulcanite, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. The stummel is dressed in an ebony sandblast, with the exception of a section of the rim that is finished smooth, providing a striking contrast.
