Brazilian carver Emanuel de Queiroz Emiliano offers a wide selection of pipes, with his broad portfolio almost evenly split between shape-chart standards and more sculptural, Freehand-inspired designs. This Tomato represents the more traditional end of Emiliano's shaping spectrum, boasting a timeless, well-balanced outline. At the forefront, a broad, squat bowl rests atop a wide, gently lifted heel, its stout walls tapering inward to a softly chamfered rim. A subtle forward cant gently thrusts the bowl outward, with the lifted heel and abbreviated fore wall contributing to its dynamic stance. A wide transition follows the bowl and leads into a trim oval shank that subtly flicks upward before meeting a refined saddle stem. This streamlined shank-and-stem arrangement keeps the aft looking sleek in profile and directs visual focus toward the pipe's dynamic fore. A crisp, inky sandblast finish completes the composition, accentuating the stummel's striking grain.
