If you like your pipes crisp of texture and smoky of palette, this straight Billiard from Giacomo Penzo is not one to miss. Crafted from bog oak (i.e. morta that's not quite petrified), and sandblasted with a fine medium, Penzo's revealed some of the tightest grain around while still keeping the shade of the stummel quite light (compared to traditional morta, at least). Fitting to its muted green hues, Giacomo's paired this classic to a stem of olive-and-onyx brindled vulcanite, serving as both an accent and a visual anchor to the composition overall. Stellar piece.
