Giacomo Penzo knows how to use bamboo to great effect, and that talent is on display in this soft-lined bent Billiard. With a craggy rim, a soft bowl, and a slight forward cant, it makes for a piece that is light and easy in hand, with no shortage of detail - from the neat balance of two knuckles of gently-bent bamboo, to plenty of flame grain highlighted in a warm contrast around the bowl. It's a fine example of his hybrid style, mixing elements of Danish shaping with his own whimsical Italian roots, making for pieces that are striking to the eye while being utterly functional.
