G. Penzo: Sandblasted Natural Poker (Shell) (A)

Product Number: 002-782-0049

The Poker is a shape that we often describe as a workhorse, able to sit on a flat surface with ease, while usually being light enough to clench. This example from Giacomo Penzo achieves both of those elements, while also showing off his impressive finishing ability. Specifically, it boasts a virgin sandblast, bringing out the neat ring grain of the underlying briar, while also ensuring a piece that will develop a patina with time. Indeed, virgin finishes are notoriously difficult, as they will make obvious any flaw in the briar or finishing process, making this even more impressive.
