G. Penzo: Smooth Bent Egg (Rudegar) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-782-0085
Giacomo Penzo is an Italian artisan that currently lives in Ireland, working for Peterson as the marque's Pipe Specialist. His considerable talent mixed with his background in industrial design make him quite adept at pipe making, often favoring stylized, organic shapes replete with a sleek, streamlined sensibility. His deft finishing work further distinguish his pipes as not only aesthetically rich smoking instruments but as genuine works of creativity.
This bent Egg showcases Penzo's exceptional pipe-making skills. The bowl's supple walls rise from a lifted heel and taper ever-so-slightly to the rim, which is chamfered for easy tobacco loading. The shank reaches out of the transition and flicks upward toward the mouthpiece, flaring gently toward its face as it does. A crisp ridgeline wraps the lower edge of one half of the shank and provides some structural definition to the otherwise curvaceous form. An auburn smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights gorgeous flame grain across the bowl's insulating walls.
