Grechukhin Design: Sandblasted Bent Apple with Ivorite
Product Number: 002-808-0026
The bent Apple is one of those shapes that feels quite natural to Vladimir Grechukhin's shaping style, which tends to emphasize the bowl, while allowing the shank and stem to serve as guides to the fore of the piece. This Grechukhin Design example does exactly that, though keeps the shank more low-profile than some of his more recognizable shapes, with a whole lot of elegant ebb to its profile. It's finished in a crisp sandblast and warm, subtle contrast stain, with a fine dome of ivorite at the shank end creating a bit of clean accent. All around excellent work.- Rachel DuBose
