Grechukhin Design: Sandblasted Bent Apple with Zebrawood
Product Number: 002-808-0046
Compared to the more compact and robust pieces in Vladimir Grechukhin's portfolio, this particular bent Apple comes across as more sleek and slender — due mostly in part to the streamlined elongation and oval cross section of the shank and furthered by its slight curvature. The bowl itself, however, remains bold and plump, per the Russian artisan's typical shaping style, offering a palm-filling presence. As part of the Grechukhin Design line, this piece was designed and shaped by Vladimir himself before being expertly finished by Alexander Tupitsyn, here displaying a contrast-stained sandblast whose texture combines well with the trim accent of zebrawood.-Truett Smith
