Grechukhin: Partially Sandblasted Rhodesian with Black Palm
Product Number: 002-497-0110
Is it a slightly domed Dublin or a very high-waisted Rhodesian? One might be tempted to say that, in this case, it's subjective. I was leaning that way to tell the truth, but then I noticed something: a clue. The bowl is canted, the chamber is not. I've never seen Vladimir do that with a Dublin, but you can bet he does it with Rhodesians; such designs are some of his signatures, though said signature Rhodesians have so far been much leaner in style, and more dramatic in the difference of angle between chamber waist-line — as well as not having previously gone without any bead-lines, as this briar does. In short, my take is that this is a curious variation on the Grechukhin signature Rhodesian, far meatier and more compact than those that preceded it, and yet, in other aspects, actually more reserved in style.
