Grechukhin: Sandblasted Magnum Bent Egg
Product Number: 002-497-0148
Until this batch, counting both new and estate pipes, we had only ever received one other Magnum grade briar from Vladimir Grechukhin in the past. While that piece followed the Russian master's more compact, chubby approach, really beefing up the design as a whole while maintaining the illusion of compactness, these latest examples emphasize those stout proportions and overall length alike. Simply put, this is one massive bent Egg — measuring over eight inches in length with an overall weight of just under half a pound. What's really interesting is that, despite its size, it actually does not come off bulky or awkward in hand or in profile — as Vladimir shaped this briar with the same careful consideration to visual weight and ergonomics as he does his most diminutive designs. Beautiful piece for fans of larger pipes.
