Grechukhin: Sandblasted Petite Bent Bulldog Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-497-0210

What a remarkable iteration of the classic Bulldog. With a slight bend, the top of the pipe above the bead lines is lifted on the far side, rendering the top of the bowl level when hanging from the teeth. Or, you might say that the bead lines are angled downward, but that's not how I see it. The bead lines are appropriate to the shank, and this pipe would look good even if the rim were parallel to the lines. With an irresistible contrast stain to highlight the streaks of mixed grain, its only smooth surfaces are the thin rim and the nomenclature panel. The squared shank is wider than it is tall, and would be oval were it rounded. As seems to always be the case with Vladimir, the stem is a saddle configuration, sending the eye toward the stummel and promoting admiration for all that is there. For something a little modern with a traditional foundation, this is your pipe.
