Henri Sorensen: Sandblasted Billiard Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-784-0050

Henri Sørensen, from Rørup, Denmark, always appreciated old-school craftsmanship, and like many pipe makers, he began his journey as a simple smoker. An apprentice of Jens "Tao" Nielsen, Henri Sørensen is often seen pulling inspiration from the Danish greats, including Tom Eltang and Poul Ilsted. In line with Sørensen's usual aesthetic, this Billiard is a Danish-inspired take on the classic shape. Rendered in a reversed length, this piece measures well under five inches, making this the ideal choice for an on-the-go smoker. The bowl features a sleek taper to the rim and subtle cheeking along the transition where it connects to the shank —a common design cue seen in Danish pipe making. The proportions are balanced, as a round shank connects to a trim cumberland saddle stem, keeping the shape looking sleek in profile. Dressing the stummel is a light sandblast that highlights stacked growth rings along the briar's surface, topped with a glossy, brown stain. Additionally, the rim and a trim accent along the junction are left smooth in a bright stain, creating an elegant contrast
