Jacono: Rook Flamingo with Silver (E)
Product Number: 002-616-0584
Tonino Jacono's "Flamingo" design is dependent upon the bowl's shape. Instead, the defining characteristic is the sudden bend in the shank, just after the transition. It doesn't make for a jaw-hanging piece, per say, but it does offer quite the eye-catching profile. In this rendition, the Italian carver has paired the unique shank to a bold, Dublin bowl up front, urging forward and flaring crisply from above a flattened heel. This piece does sit accordingly, looking similar to a Poker when doing so, though the thick insulating walls and tucked transition also make for an easy feel in hand. In a less often seen color palette, this one's dressed in the dark ebony-stained version of the smooth Rook finish, accented handsomely with a metal band and natural-stained rim for quite the dress pipe aesthetic.-Truett Smith
