Jacono: Rook Bent Dublin with Silver (E)
Product Number: 002-616-0647
Tonino Jacono is known for his beefy, muscular designs, but with restrained style and elegant shaping. This bent Dublin is smooth and lightly stained to give the flowing grain a palette for impressing passersby. A bright band of sterling silver adorns the shank, separating the jet-black mouthpiece from the lightly stained stummel. Said shank is curved from right to left, for an exotic interpretation that's reminiscent of the Italian carver's signature Flamingo shape, except it bends here along the horizontal axis. The left flank is subtly paneled, offering some faint texturally diversity in hand and brilliantly highlights the tight streaks of vertical grain that cascades down it. This Rook grade offers a unique and surprising take on the shape chart standard, benefiting from Jacono's keen eye for detail and penchant for playful shaping cues.- Chuck Stanion
