Jacono: Rook Bent Billiard with Boxwood

Plump and palm-filling, this bent Billiard from Tonino Jacono uses stout proportions to great effect, creating a piece with much of the attraction of a comfort pipe — thick walls, a supple form, and a generously deep chamber — all while keeping its overall size easily manageable. The hearty, muscular bowl is nicely balanced by the gracefully arcing shank-and-stem combination, while the well-defined transition provides ample room for the thumb to rest. Excellent flame grain is illuminated by the smoky, walnut contrast stain with the pale hues of the boxwood ferrule providing some attractive contrast.
