Jacono: Knight Cherrywood

Product Number: 002-616-1033

The Cherrywood isn't exactly a common shape from Tonino Jacono, though it is a fairly regular addition to his portfolio. This particular design, however, is one that is very seldom, if ever, seen from the craftsman, as it eschews the standard cylindrical bowl that the shape is often outfitted with in favor of one that is curved on both the fore and aft, creating a forward-rushing kind of momentum. Said momentum is aided in its charge by the upturned shank and demurely curved stem out back, giving the appearance of a definite travel, as if the entire shape was barreling onward. The stummel is dressed in Jacono's Knight rustication, providing a craggy texture and deep chestnut stain that contrasts handsomely with the smooth, lighter stained areas of the shank end and rim.
