Jacono: Knight Cherrywood (E)

Product Number: 002-616-1038

Tonino Jacono's affinity for crafting pieces with bowl-centric proportions is realized in this neoclassic Cherrywood, a shape not often seen from the Italian carver. The stocky Pot-like bowl displays a subtle forward cant with the flattened heel angled a bit, while a round shank and saddle stem sully forth from a low-set transition. Graceful in profile, it's a great Sitter with a deep chamber and is wearing a natural stained rustication about the bowl which should darken with patina as it's smoked and with age. Tonino has lightly stained the smooth, cap-like rim, heel and shank, with handsome birdseye seen peppering the former and the heel.
