Jacono: Pawn Volcano Tobacco Pipe

Few shapes provide a surface for grain the way Volcanoes do. They follow lines that are natural to the briar, as seen on this example from the incomparable Tonino Jacono. The grain sweeps up from the curvaceous, slightly rounded base, all in a medium-depth sandblast that has unveiled a spectacular display of rippling ring grain. It's a pipe that truly follows the grain, and in this specimen, that grain is spectacular. The sandblasted texture has been handsomely contrasted by the smooth, light-stained briar along the rim as well as a band along the shank end.
