Jacono: Rook Tomato Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-616-1395
Italian artisan Tonino Jacono began carving pipes after his father-in-law, who worked in a briar mill, allowed him access to high quality briar, which Jacono uses to create impressive pipes in the expressive neoclassic style. This Tomato is a fine example of Jacono's work, placing a broad, plump bowl atop an expansive heel, with supple, curvaceous walls that taper gently toward a flat rim. Out back, a smooth transition gives way to a slim round shank and colorful acrylic saddle stem, comfortably bent. Dressed in a light, smooth finish, the Rook-grade stummel displays fine flame grain around the bowl, with swirling birdseye at the rim and heel.
