Jacono: Corbezzolo Bent Brandy Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-616-1527

In 1981, Tonino Jacono and his father-in-law began developing an idea for a pipe-making workshop. Tonino's father-in-law would supply the briar from the mill where he worked; Tonino's brother-in-law would shape the pipes; and Tonino would finish the pipes. Two years later, Tonino and his family were crafting pipes centralized around a core philosophy: offer the highest-quality smoking instruments at the right price. Four decades later, Tonino now heads the workshop and has taken over carving the pipes himself, though he maintains the same adherence to that core value system. Here, Tonino showcases his impeccable shaping acumen, handsome finishing work, and penchant for alternative mediums. Instead of traditional briar, this piece is fashioned entirely from strawberry wood, making it a unique design in both Jacono's portfolio and in pipe making more generally. As a shape, this piece boasts a plump bowl that tapers form its wide, rounded heel to its taut rim. Said bowl is positioned at the fore of an upturned shank and a demurely curved tapered stem, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is a warm smooth finish that highlights fetching grain across the bowl and shank alike.
