Jacono: Pawn Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-616-1538
In 1981, Tonino Jacono and his father-in-law began developing an idea for a pipe-making workshop. Tonino's father-in-law would supply the briar from the mill where he worked; Tonino's brother-in-law would shape the pipes; and Tonino would finish the pipes. Two years later, Tonino and his family were crafting pipes centralized around a core philosophy: offer the highest-quality smoking instruments at the right price. Four decades later, Tonino now heads the workshop and has taken over carving the pipes himself, though he maintains the same adherence to that core value system. Tonino showcases his striking shaping style and handsome finishing work with this Dublin. This piece boasts a stocky bowl formed by thick, insulating walls that flare upward from a firm heel to a broad, plateau-crowned rim. Said bowl stands at the fore of a sturdy shank and a slender saddle stem, the latter of which is made of mocha-hued acrylic that matches the complexion of the stummel. A crisp, earthy sandblast dresses the ensemble and highlights rippling growth rings across the bowl's flanks.
