Jacono: Rook Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-616-1584
A handsome showcase of Tonino's impeccable shaping acumen and stylish finishing work, this Dublin boasts a muscular, full-bodied bowl that flares from its stout heel to its broad, plateau-crowned rim. Said bowl is situated at the fore of a sturdy shank that stretches out of the low-set transition before joining a trim saddle stem of colorful acrylic. The shank-and-stem arrangement lends the shape a streamlined silhouette that focuses most of the visual weight at the bowl, in typical Italian neoclassical style. Dressed in a rich, chestnut-toned finish, the stummel here offers a wealth of attractive flame grain.
In 1981, Tonino Jacono and his father-in-law began developing an idea for a pipe-making workshop. Tonino's father-in-law would supply the briar from the mill where he worked; Tonino's brother-in-law would shape the pipes; and Tonino would finish the pipes. Two years later, Tonino and his family were crafting pipes centralized around a core philosophy: offer the highest-quality smoking instruments at the right price. Four decades later, Tonino now heads the workshop and has taken over carving the pipes himself, though he maintains the same adherence to that core value system.
