Here, the plump-bodied Tomato and dark, crisp sandblast make for a simple, sleek piece at first glance, accented by the stunning addition of some of his remarkable, unique bamboo, its knuckles showing some beautiful gnarling. Where bamboo meets briar, Jerry has taken great care to carve the briar to match the divots of the bamboo, creating a subtle continuity that shows his dedication to even the tiniest of details, even as the technique is used all the way around that connection line. Beautiful work, and a piece that should please those fans of elegant, organically-inclined pieces.
