While Konstantin Shekita produces what you might call high art pipes (just look at the Lattices), he also makes ones that can be called very practical comfort pipes, like the wide-shanked Pot in this same batch. Then he also makes pipes that are kind of both, really. This Tomato is one of those. In form it's art; a combination of mass and sleekness producing a smooth, minimalist message of momentum. But, at the same time, in hand and in terms of practical design, it's a comfort pipe. The chamber is modest, the walls incredibly stout, and though quite different from your mundane Tomato, the presence in hand is pleasing and natural.
