Konstantin Shekita: Sandblasted Bent Brandy with Wenge
Product Number: 002-600-0036
There are those who prefer a crisp, low-profile sandblast, and there are those who prefer the exact opposite. This gently-bent Brandy, with its plump base and sweeping turn to the shank, falls into the latter category. The ridges of growth rings are neatly stacked along the bowl, prominently displayed in a pattern that is almost shingled in appearance. That texture is extended through the shank, as well, while the smoky, warm contrast stain highlights some of the briar's flame grain — and pairs perfectly with a dark mount of wenge. For those who prefer a rugged, pastoral style of pipe, this would be a sure fit — as well as being a piece that shows off some of Shekita's skill with this more heavily textured style of finish.- Rachel DuBose
