Konstantin Shekita: Sandblasted Dublin with Gold Plated Silver
Product Number: 002-600-0040
This straight Dublin is on the more conservative end of Konstantin Shekita's portfolio, the Ukrainian artisan often producing inventive, sculptural renditions. His creativity is clearly imbued here, however, with an upright, flaring bowl paired to an arrow-straight oval shank-and-stem combination. An elegant execution of shaping in accordance with grain, both the profile of the bowl and one of Shekita's smoldering contrast stains do well to accentuate tight stacks of ring grain climbing the bowl. The rim is inflated, with the outer half matching the rest of the stummel and the inner edge left smooth for a nice contrast. The shank is elongated and oval, and topped by an abbreviated, tapered vulcanite stem, the combination quite evocative of a Canadian, while an accent of gold-plated silver graces the shank end for a touch of undeniable elegance. A stunning interpretation of a classic design, this pipe is pure Shekita and will elevate any collection.- Joel Balyeat
