This is a familiar form from Lars Jonsson, and one which has seemed to appear as progressively more squat and low-slung with each rendition, resulting in a significant degree of swoop-like gesture and forward momentum alike. The pronounced, skipping stone-like disposition of the bowl is achieved through an exaggerated cheekiness, with the aforementioned momentum accentuated by the aftward-curling rim in profile, and the transition's well-defined curve further emphasizing the visual weight at play here. Birdseye fills the left flank, with cross-grain riding the upper side, all accentuated by a dark walnut contrast stain. An impressively dynamic piece, the feel in hand here is substantial and quite appealing.
