Lomma: Sandblasted Bent Dublin
Product Number: 002-596-0156
Though considerably more bent than the other Dublin featured in this same Lomma pipe update, this rendition here still maintains a similar overall style, hewing closely to classic Danish shaping cues. Both pieces feature briar plateau at the rim and shank face and offer bowls more reserved of flare and upright of posture. In this particular one, though, the sinuous bend softens the profile and makes for a more elegant, soft-lined aesthetic as the underside of the shank curls more languidly through the heel and into the bowl, echoing the angle of the transition. Furthermore, this piece wears a dark-stained sandblast, showcasing a low-profile but incredibly concise pattern of ring grain up and down the bowl, and the stem base, instead of being set into the shank face like on the other bent Dublin, acts as an accent in profile, the disc-like saddle portion being the only hard line in the entire piece.-Truett Smith
